No Onions?
The Seagull Attack

A specific order, a bald head,
and a very determined local bird.

Story Commentary

Hi, I'm octopus0plus. Modern life is filled with ironic moments where our specific requests seem to backfire comically. In this episode, I wanted to explore the visual and phonetic confusion that arises when context and appearance collide. A customer specifically asks for 'no onions' in his sandwich, believing he has avoided his nightmare ingredient.

But when a nearby seagull mistakes his매끈한, round bald head for a giant, succulent onion, the 'No Onions Glitch' takes on a new, very tactical meaning. I aimed to capture that split-second contrast between the customer's relief and the sudden, chaotic realization of the 'Hard-Boiled Betrayal'—turning a peaceful beach moment into a tactical standoff. It’s about celebrating the wild, unpredictable 'glitches' that make life funny!

Concept: Concentric Gluttony

The core concept of this piece is 'Contextual Misinterpretation.' I aimed to visualize the raw, chaotic energy of the local wildlife experiencing a 'Glitch' in its understanding of human intentions versus their physical reality.

Through various conceptual sketches and annotations, I focused heavily on character dynamic and expressions—contrasting the customer's utter despair with the vendor's well-meaning but ultimately unhelpful pride. Designed in a raw, early conceptual sketch style, I used rough pencil lines and smudges to capture the immediacy of the planning stage, reminding us all that sometimes, the beach fights back!
