Profile vs. Reality:
The Filter Fallout

A comedic look at the digital era's
most awkward first encounter.

Story Commentary

Hi, I'm octopus0plus. In this Short, I explored a situation that has become a hallmark of the digital age: the "Catfish" moment. We've all been there—scrolling through perfectly polished profile pictures, only to find a completely different person standing in front of us at a meeting.

The story focuses on that split-second of internal "glitch" when your brain tries to reconcile the digital image with the physical reality. By exaggerating the reaction and the visual contrast, I wanted to capture the hilariously awkward tension of modern social interactions where filters and reality collide.

Concept: Digital Deception

The core concept for this piece is 'The Expectation Gap.' I aimed to visualize the humorous disappointment and shock that occurs when someone's "Internet Persona" and "Real-World Self" don't quite match up.

Through vibrant character expressions and relatable scenarios, I designed this content to resonate with anyone who has ever navigated the world of online dating or social networking. It's a comedic reflection on the beauty (and absurdity) of our filtered lives—reminding us that sometimes, what you see isn't exactly what you get!
