ガチャの悪魔 /The Gacha Demon

Corner of a Convenience Storeコンビニの片隅で

金曜日の夜、オタクAはコンビニでガチャガチャを発見した。推しキャラの限定フィギュアが入っているらしい。
Friday night, Otaku A discovered a gacha machine at the convenience store. It apparently contains limited figures of his favorite character.

オタクA：「1回だけ…1回だけなら…」
Otaku A: "Just once... if it's just once..."

500円を投入。出てきたのはレアではないキャラだった。
He inserted 500 yen. What came out was a non-rare character.

オタクA：「まあ、こんなもんか…」
Otaku A: "Well, I guess that's how it goes..."

しかし、足が動かない。
However, his feet won't move.

オタクA：「でも確率的に考えると、もう1回やれば…」
Otaku A: "But statistically speaking, if I try one more time..."

2回目、3回目、4回目…。財布の中身が寂しくなってきた。
Second time, third time, fourth time... His wallet was getting lighter.

店員：「お客様、そろそろ閉店の時間なんですが…」
Store clerk: "Customer, it's almost closing time..."

オタクA：「あ、すみません！最後にもう1回だけ！」
Otaku A: "Oh, sorry! Just one more time, the last one!"

結局、推しは出なかった。しかし彼は満足していた。なぜなら「もしかしたら」という希望を味わえたからである。
In the end, his favorite character didn't come out. However, he was satisfied because he could taste the hope of "what if."
