痛車オーナーの試練 /The Trials of an Itasha Owner

Sunday Morning at the Car Wash日曜日の朝、洗車場にて

オタクAは愛車の痛車を洗っている。車体には推しキャラが描かれているが、近所の視線が痛い。
Otaku A is washing his itasha (anime-decorated car). His favorite character is painted on the car, but the neighborhood stares are painful.

おじさん：「あの〜、その車…すごいですね…」
Middle-aged man: "Um... that car... is quite something..."

オタクA：「あ、はい…ありがとうございます…」
Otaku A: "Oh, yes... thank you..."

褒められているのか困惑されているのか判断がつかない。
He can't tell if he's being praised or if the man is confused.

子供：「お母さん、この車かわいい！」
Child: "Mom, this car is cute!"

母親：「シーッ、見ちゃダメ！」
Mother: "Shh, don't look!"

オタクAの心は複雑だった。子供には理解されるが、大人には理解されない。
Otaku A's feelings were complicated. Children understand it, but adults don't.

オタクA：「まあ、好きなものは好きだから…」
Otaku A: "Well, what I like is what I like..."

彼は今日も堂々と痛車で出勤する予定である。会社の駐車場が戦場になることを知りながら。
He plans to drive his itasha to work proudly today as well, knowing that the company parking lot will become a battlefield.
