Coffee Shop Reunion After 5 Years5年ぶりの喫茶店での再会

日曜日の午後。オタクAは5年ぶりに学生時代のオタク友達と再会した。
Sunday afternoon. Otaku A reunited with his otaku friend from student days after 5 years.

オタク友達：「久しぶり！元気だった？」
Otaku friend: "Long time no see! How have you been?"

オタクA：「元気だよ〜。今何見てる？」
Otaku A: "I'm doing well~ What are you watching these days?"

オタク友達：「最近あんまりアニメ見てないんだ。仕事忙しくて。」
Otaku friend: "I haven't been watching much anime lately. Work's been busy."

オタクA：「え？でも今期すごいアニメ多いよ？」
Otaku A: "What? But there are so many great anime this season?"

オタク友達：「うーん…なんか疲れちゃってさ。昔ほど熱中できなくて。」
Otaku friend: "Well... I've gotten tired of it. I can't get as passionate as I used to."

会話が続かない。昔は朝まで語り合ったアニメの話ができない。
The conversation doesn't flow. They can't talk about anime like they used to until morning.

オタク友達：「最近は映画とか読書とか、普通の趣味にシフトしてる。」
Otaku friend: "Recently I've shifted to normal hobbies like movies and reading."

オタクA：（普通の趣味…アニメは普通じゃないのか…）
Otaku A: (Normal hobbies... so anime isn't normal...)

オタクA：「そっか…大人になったってことかな…」
Otaku A: "I see... maybe that means you've grown up..."

一人だけ変わらずオタクでいる自分に、なんとなく取り残された感覚を覚えた。
Being the only one who remained unchanged as an otaku, he somehow felt left behind.
